Water pollution by pesticides

Water is polluted all over the country, nothing new, we all know that! The cause is essentially chemical in origin, with the lion's share of the blame going to farmers who practise ‘conventional’, intensive farming, releasing pesticides and other nitrates that have gradually invaded the rivers and aquifers from which we draw our household water.

The problem is that this pollution is on the increase and, at the same time, not much is being done to remedy it, or at least the solutions put forward are nowhere near equal to the issues at stake.
