It's nothing new, unfortunately, but nonetheless worrying: the use of pesticides in France is increasing almost every year. Despite commitments made in 2008 to reduce pesticide use by 50% in 10 years, we are still failing. In 2018, the quantity of substances that we now know to be toxic for the environment continues to be spread in even greater quantities!
A new commitment, made in 2019, calls for a 50% reduction in the use of plant protection products by 2025. Should we really believe it?
In the meantime, these poisons are gradually finding their way into the air we breathe, our food and, of course, our water and groundwater, ending up in the water in our taps.
