The Sport Berkey® filtering bottle is practical and eco-friendly.

All plastics used in the filtering bottle are food-grade and BPA-free.
- The bottle is made from low-density polyethylene, medical grade (LDPE #4), which does not leach and is BPA-free
- The cap is made from high-density polyethylene
- The straw is made from polypropylene.

The Sport Berkey® filter element is designed to remove or significantly reduce toxic chemicals, heavy metals, volatile organic compounds, trihalomethanes, detergents, pesticides, herbicides, chlorides, pharmaceuticals, petroleum-based products, unpleasant odors, silt, sediments, and chlorine.

To drink, simply suck vigorously through the straw while lightly squeezing the bottle to create some pressure, which helps the water flow through the filter and up the straw.

Ensure the bottle is in a vertical position when transporting it in a bag. Excessive pressure on the bottle can cause water to rise through the straw and potentially leak.

Consider the filtering bottle as a straw filter with its container that can be filled during walks or travels. It is not suitable for transport when full unless kept vertical and/or if it undergoes pressure. This can cause leaks through the straw or the cap if it is not tightly secured.

The Sport Berkey® filter bottle is durable and has a shelf life of 50 years. It is made from BPA-free copolyester.

It has a filtration capacity of 640 with tap water and 160 refills with dirty, untreated water.
It is 29 cm high and 8 cm in diameter.

The Sport Berkey® filtering bottle includes:

Container, flip-top cap with straw
1 purification element Sport Berkey®

How do I clean my Sport Berkey® water bottle?

Your Sport Berkey® Filter Bottle has a lifespan of 50 years! When not using it for an extended period, remove the filter and fill the bottle with bleach at a ratio of one-quarter teaspoon per 2 liters of water, or a 50/50 mixture of 3% hydrogen peroxide. Rinse. Allow the parts to dry completely with the cap removed. Reassemble the bottle and, if possible, store it in an airtight bag. Do not allow the filter to freeze, do not place it in the microwave, and do not run hot water through it.

Why shouldn't the filter in the Sport Berkey® filter bottle be allowed to freeze?

To refresh the water in your Sport Berkey® Filter Bottle, you might think of placing it in the freezer for about twenty minutes. DON'T DO IT!!!

We strongly advise against letting the filtration elements freeze. We also advise against storing the elements (even unused ones) in very cold climates. Very cold or frozen water can expand inside the filter and consequently enlarge the pores, rendering the filtration ineffective. Whether the elements are unused or used and completely dried, a small amount of moisture could still remain inside the filter, especially in predominantly humid climates. This moisture could expand inside the element and render it unusable.

This recommendation applies to ALL our Berkey® filtration elements. Freezing your element and making it unusable will void your warranty coverage.

What is the maximum temperature to which the Sport Berkey® filter bottle can be subjected? ...

In certain situations, your Sport Berkey® Filter Bottle may be exposed to high temperatures. For example, if it remains in the trunk of your car in direct sunlight...

Therefore, you should remember that your filter bottle should not be subjected to temperatures above 46°C (115°F).

Can I put my Sport Berkey® filter flask in the fridge? ...

Yes, it is possible to put your Sport Berkey® Filter Bottle in the refrigerator, but under no circumstances should you let it freeze. The expansion of water within the filter could enlarge the pores and compromise its integrity, rendering it inoperative and voiding the warranty.

My new water bottle gives my water a plastic smell. What can I do?

First, have you properly primed your bottle to eliminate any dust in the filter? If not, refer to your manual and complete or repeat the priming step.

If the taste persists, here is a little tip to remove the odor. Take the container (without the straw or filter), fill it partially with white vinegar (about 1/5 to 1/3 of its capacity) and top it up with hot water. Let it sit overnight, rinse thoroughly, and then let it dry. As it dries, vinegar has the unique ability to remove odors (including its own).
